Sony revealed some gameplay of LBP being played with their upcoming motion controller now officially named Move. By the looks of it you will be able to manipulate the environment with the controller by clicking on bright pink dots. So you can for instance move a platform around so that the other player can proceed, or build a puzzle.
Have a look at the embedded video below.
Hidy Ho Sackfolks! Remember that Rare Gold Sticker that has been the hot topic recently because it was accidentally posted on the EU PSN? Well, I think that we have all been very curious about what that sticker was, and how Cambridge would handle the whole ordeal since a number of people were able to download the sticker, which obviously made it much less rare.
Well, AceCreator has made an official statement over at LittleBigWorkshop , and this is what he had to say:
Hi fellow Creators,
Some of you may have seen the ‘Superstar! Gold Rare Sticker’ appear briefly on the PSN Store. Here’s the lowdown on this particular item:
It was put on the European Store by mistake. Precisely 105 were downloaded.
Even though its rarity has been compromised, we will be giving this sticker as a prize in community held competitions over the next few months.
However, we have five new Gold Rare Sticker awards for more specific achievements (such as artistic and technical ability) making an appearance in a couple of months’ time, at which point we will stop giving out the ‘Superstar! Gold Rare Sticker’ and proceed with the new truly exclusive stickers instead.
We hope that clears everything up.
Keep your eyes peeled for ways to win the ‘Superstar! Gold Rare Sticker’ over the coming weeks,
AceCreator.
There is obviously a bit of mystery still surrounding all of this, but this news gets me very excited. It sounds like the “Common” Rare Gold Sticker that was accidentally given to 105 people will be used to give out in Community Competitions. HOWEVER!!! There will be 5 other Extra Rare stickers that will be given out on other occasions, and each sticker corresponds to a specific achievement.
So, the questions is: Will these be given out at random to creators for levels that Cambridge loves, or will they be given to authors that made levels that were “Featured”, or will Cambridge be holding competitions where they give out these stickers themself?
Another seasonly costume will make its comeback this Thursday. Since its St. Patrick’s Day next week you will be able to get the Leprechaun costume once again. But remember it’s only available for one week. If you miss out again you will have to wait another year.
Oh my, the rumours just won’t stop. According to VG247. Their source states that something called LBP 2 will come out in 2010.
What that implies is unclear as of now. It could be full fledged sequel or an Arc title.
We will most likely hear more about it as the GDC starts this week in San Francisco.
Hidy Ho Sackfolks! It’s a new week, and that means that it’s time for a new edition of PSP Level of the Week!
Remember how I’ve been asking people to submit levels to me for Level of the Week? Well, this week I actually received a few over at LBPC (remember, you can submit at the forum of your choice since I can be found at all of them), and it just so happens that one of those submissions is this weeks Level of the Week!
So, let’s get down to business…
Fort Sugar III is straightforward platformer that is just plain fun! There’s no story, no puzzles, none of that confusing stuff, just the joy that comes with running, jumping, and grabbing.
But that’s not to say that the level is boring by any means. Fort Sugar III had a GREAT look to it. VelcroJonze did an excellent job with layering materials that go together very well to create a level that is very pleasing for the eyes. And on top of that, the level uses excellent camera angles to fully show off the great concepts for the environments.
My favorite part of the level was a point where you cannot reach a switch, and the author has you climb to a higher point and then jump down onto where the switch was. The great thing about it is the way it uses the camera angles that I mentioned:
Anyone who like a good platformer should give this level a try, because it is a blast. And if you enjoy this one then make sure to check out Fort Sugar (Redux) and Fort Sugar II!
As predicited this week you can buy the Canyons pack off the PSN store. Same price as usual; £2.39/€2.99/US $2.99/AUS $ 3.45/NZD $3.90. This will get you two costume, 19 material, one background and a music object.
There is also the obligatory free costume available
Meanwhile on EU PSblog…
For some reason the Heads-up list lists a single free sticker as well. Being free it will probably not live up to its name Superstar! Gold Rare Sticker.
Not quite sure what this is supposed to be and whether it really will be there. It seems strange to release a solitary sticker. Maybe it is supposed to be the equivallent to the crown in the PS3 version, but than they wouldn’t give it away for free. So who knows, could just be a mistake.
Speculations may commence below.
Our favourite developer is now part of Sony Computer Entertainment. Read the press release below:

Hidy Ho Sackfolks! Remember that awesome 2.03 update for the PSP? It fixed a lot of issues, but if you think really hard, you may remember that it caused some major problems as well, and it even broke some levels that were already published!
Well, today is a good day to be a PSP sackboy/girl, because the 2.04 update is out now, and it is supposed to fix all of those nasty problems that 2.03 introduced. Here is a nice handy-dandy list of info about the update that Arrestor (PSN: Maboe84) was nice enough to post:
size: 14mb
Changes:
- Pistons now work normal when attached to a dynamic object first
- They wont get stuck to the popit anymore
- Scoreboards trigger if upside down (i think we can thank lleonard for that )
- no more problems when emitters emit the same myobject (didnt notice anything)
Hidy Ho Sackfriends! We are just kicking off a new week, and that means that it’s time for a new edition of “PSP Level of the Week”.
This week we have a pretty fresh level to offer, so no promises that it will not be on page 1 of Highest Rated (or Featured) in the future, but for now it is just an awesome level that could use a few thousand more plays
So let’s get down to business:
Remember that amazing game from Valve called Portal? Well Trapped Transition is a LBP parody of Portal, and it comes at the perfect time because of the Strawberry Cheesecake Update. When you play the level you will understand better, but to really understand the genius of this level, you need to have played Portal. But that is not to say that you won’t have a blast with the level anyway!
You start off in a cell, and you are instructed move out:
Soon after you get out of the cell, you will meet the Companion Cube. Any Portal fan will immediately recognize this lovable object:
As you progress through the level, you will learn how the Portals work (they are the Blue and Yellow that you see in the following picture):
and you will even get outside of the Lab, just like you did in Portal:
Like I said, this level is amazing. For those who have not played Portal, it has an awesome and unique feel to it, and for those of us who have played Portal, it is just plain fun to see how Maboe84 has recreated it on LBP.
Hidy Ho Sackfolks! It’s been a while since I have tried to spread infectious rumors that will most likely only end with hurt and tears when we find out that they aren’t true, but hey, I just can’t resist
For this edition of the rumor mill, I would like to direct your attention to Podcast Beyond Episode 126 from the wonderful folks over at IGN (you can find it on iTunes or at IGN.com). The rumor is more of a prediction than a rumor, but at the same time, these guys are on the inside of the gaming industry, so they may know more than they are letting on that they know.
At around the 32 minute mark you will hear them make a prediction that they believe that at E3 it will be announced that LBP 2 will be coming bundled with the new PS3 motion controller.
Like I said, it is all speculation, but like I said….
