Little Big Planet Level – Halloween Party

Halloween Party: A Logic Adventure by Simon J R Holmes

Halloween Party is a first of it's kind: an adventure using real logic in order to investigate a crime scene. The player must hunt around a seemingly deserted apartment looking for clues to the identity of a killer. Eschewing the traditional smash and grab of points based platforming, Halloween Party sets out to make players think; although there is of course the usual need to bounce around to some out of the way places along the road to the solution.

The level started out being rather more grand in scope, but was reigned in to allow a less contrived and therefore less convoluted plot. Do not however think that the small size means a short play experience as there is plenty of work to be done to get out of this one and given that this is the first interpretation of this kind of logic problem there is plenty of room for future expansion.

One thing to note is that the solution of the game requires the use of stickers. The level editor does not allow prize stickers from the game to be doled out to players at a whim, so it has been necessary to use some unlockable content from the story mode. It is however foreseen that most players will have reached the required stages in order to have the right stickers in their collection as, without giving too much away, most come from the early stages.
