Did you miss out on the Valentines kit? Were you busy packing up presents when the Santa costume was available?
Yes? Than I have good news for you that are only slightly marred by some bad news. Or rather Sam_Protagonist has:
The subject of time limited costumes is certainly popular right now so let’s clear up exactly what’s going to happen.
Costumes that are timed to fit a certain event, holiday or season such as the Valentines pack or Halloween costume will be re-released every year to coincide with the event. This does not mean that other seasonal won’t also turn up in the future, but it should be seen that unless explicitly released as “never to be repeated” all time limited content can be released again.
As far as the space suit is concerned, this isn’t associated with an annually recurring event, but is associated with something special in the LittleBigPlanet calendar – a game launch. To that end it will also return to be available when there is a new game launched.
Extra content that will never return to be available will always be marked as such, and will be representative of special edition content – like the Week 1 Tshirt. It’s appreciated that North America never had the chance to pick up the Tshirt, but it was always intended to be a rare and exclusive item for a very limited period of time (hence the price) which is why it cannot be released again as it would undermine this intention. However there will be other pieces of special edition content released in the future and the one guarantee this time around is that it will be available everywhere.
So there is hope that we will see the seasonal costumes and packs again, but sadly our North American friends will have to say goodbye to the hope of ever getting their hand on the Week 1 T-Shirt.
The same is true for the Space Suit. The release of the GOTY edition came and went (in North America, anyway) and no Space Suit appeared on the store. Something to look forward to in LBP 2, eh?
