Giant Sackboy spotted

No, not really. This is a picture of a full sized Sackboy costume sent in to our friends at Threespeech.com by one of their readers called MAGHERAFELT. Apparently it got a little bit ripped whilst walking around town last Halloween. Impressive work!

Sackboy Styling Contest – Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong

Do you live in Hong Kong, Taiwan or Singapore? If so here’s your chance to enter your design for a Sackboy costume, much like the previous US, EU and Asian entries – which have been made available as free downloads. The prizes? The winner from each region will get LittleBigPlanet Pipo Monkey Sackboy costume and LittleBigPlanet RARE Prize crown, limited edition Sackboy doll, an 80Gb PS3 and in addition the Hong Kong winner will get a prepaid PSN card. Hurry if you intend to enter as the competition closes on the 31st December.

Festive Pack details

Sony have announced full details of the festive pack we revealed last week – and what a pack! For your money you will get the two costumes we showed you - the Xmas Tree and the Giftwrapped costume plus:

One new Create Material = Wrapping Paper (cardboard w/ giftwrap texture).
Two new Objects = A Festive Sleigh and holiday themed light.
Six new Decorations = A Festive Bauble, Bell, Wrapping Bow, Candy Cane, Card and Stocking.
A ton of new Stickers = Christmas themed of course, including a Red Nosed Reindeer, Elves, Turkey images and many more.

This pack will only be available from this Thursday 18th Dec up until Jan 8th 2009. Don`t forget we should also receive the rest of the free Santa costume, the hat and beard.

More Xmas costumes inbound

The Japanese Little Big Planet site is showing not only the Santa costume we get this week and next, but also a further 2 Christmas related costumes. The gift wrapped Sackboy in the bottom right looks like it has a price tag but we are unsure about the Xmas tree, which carries the date of 18th December

Street Fighter Sackboys arriving this week

Its been made official by Sony on the LittleBigPlanet news site that the Street Fighter Sackboys, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile and Zangief will be arriving as DLC to the PSN on Thursday.

They will be individually priced at $1.99 and $5.99 for the whole lot. It does seem a little pricey but for the opportunity to sport Ryu's big hair it's well worth it.

UPDATE: these are now available on the EU store priced at £1.59 each or £4.79 for the pack of 4

Xmas DLC part 1

It has been announced tonight on the PlayStation Blog that we are in for some festive costumes, starting tomorrow (11th Dec)

This first add-on brings us a Santa coat and trousers for your Sackperson – for free. Next week (18th Dec) you can expect the hat and beard to complete the costume, again for free.

EU LittleBigPlanet DLC 4th Dec

This week`s downloadable content is now available on the EU PlayStation store. The good news is that it`s free. The bad news is that there`s just the one – the `Kabuki Actor` costume which was the winning entry from the Japanese Costume Competition.

Unfortunately we don`t speak Japanese, so the only legible words we could find on this post found on the Little Big Planet section of the Japanese PlayStation site were `Mixlemoned` and `PlayStation Store` with no obvious date given.

EU LittleBigPlanet DLC 27th Nov

The EU PlayStation Store has recently been updated with this week`s collection of goodies.

We too get the Thanksgiving themed `Turkey Head` costume for free and the Chimera costume, costing £1.59 in the UK and €1.99 in the rest of Europe

US LittleBigPlanet DLC 26th Nov

This week`s round of US downloadable content contains no surprises and just two costumes. The first is the free Sackboy Turkey Head costume – which we wrongly revealed last week as a chicken, oops – to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The second is the Chimera costume we showed you last week. This comes with a price tag of $1.99

This week Thursday (13/11) the PlayStation Network will have new costumes for Sackboy to fill his cupboard with. We see the Animals line-up with;

This week`s free costume is the Sack-Eating Plant which is the SCEE costume contest winner.

We at Little Big Land think that not only are the animal costumes immensely cute but also reasonably priced – more so when bought as a pack - and can`t wait for them to hit the European PlayStation store
