LittlebigPlanet PS3 owners can download the Sacktue of Liberty costume once more. For free of course.

For PSP owners there is a bit more. First of all you get this lovely background for free

And then there some price reductions for the Europeans among you. The Canyons Level Kit is now £1.19/€1.49 instead of £2.39/€2.99. The same goes for the Island Level Kit.

Should you not own LittleBigPlanet at all and are based in Europe (which according to Sony includes South Africa, Australia and New Zealand) you get a free downloadable version of LBP PS3 if you subscribe to Playstation Plus for a year. Playstation Plus costs €49,99, so it's not really free.
Here is a fun fact: The downloadable version of LBP is 2GB large.

According to LittleBigPlanet.com, all of us lucky LBP PSP owners will be getting The Temples Theme Pack today!

The pack will include the costumes, materials, stickers, music, and the background that we all know and love from The Temples Theme on PS3.

The Theme gives the your icons a nice LBP makeover as well as a stitched background with sackboy in the center.

In a thread conversing "Space" as well as "DLC", Sam Protagonist jumped in and made this comment in reply to a post about MM not being willing to re-release the Spacesuit:

The Spacesuit was released with the game to celebrate its launch. It could therefore be argued that it should be re-issued any time there is another launch

Hmmm.... so what are your thoughts? Will we be seeing some of these rare costumes resurface as downloadable DLC? Should we see them resurface?

Which seems to imply we could be getting a level pack along with the Water Tool when it comes

As you can see, not only can you swim in the water, but it appears that objects can float on the water, and that sackboy can be allowed to only breath for so long (maybe a setting you can adjust when you put it in your level), plus there are some pretty sweet water physics in that video!

According to the posting, water will come in an up-and-coming "downloaded add-on kit".

So, you may wonder, what's so special about this new edition? Well, let me tell you:

Pretty exciting stuff, huh? But this leaves an obvious question for us folks who already have the game, will we be able to get our hands on these level? Kinda makes you think that maybe this is going to be Mm's big upcoming announcement (that there will be an 18 level DLC pack...hmmm... sounds like that would make a good Rumor Mill...

Alrighty, so let's get down to business. If you haven't played Shadow of the Colossus before, you need to immediately drop everything you are doing and go out and buy a copy since it is one of the best games ever made.
Oh, and one more thing, Mm says there is more news coming about the stickers, sound effects, and pricing for the DLC.

In order to access the tools, you need to download them from the download planet in the main menu of LittleBigPlanet.

Sam Protagonist has posted on the community forums asking what content you would like to see more of and asks that you vote as follows:

- Choose your top 3 most important types of content
- List them in order of importance

Your choices are :

Accessories
Background themes (the animated backdrop to levels)
Costumes
Gadgets (like the Paintinator)
Levels (designed by Mm on various themes)
Materials (different kinds of wood, metal, stone etc)
Music/sound effects
Objects (like the orange, soccer ball and so on)
Stickers (particularly "effect" type stickers such as bullet holes, or numbers and letters)
Tools (new switches, sensors etc)

No added functionality such as liquids, image importing and the like though

As expected following last week’s schedule announcement the God Of War Pack, Kratos costume and Groundhog Day Costume are now available for download from the PlayStation Store.

In a surprise move the Ape Escape and Toro costumes, not expected until Feb 12th, are also in the store!

UPDATE: we’ve just had confirmation from Sam Protagonist that the EU store has been somewhat ‘over-zealous’ in releasing the Ape Escape and Toro costumes too early. Grab them while you can!

UPDATE 2: the same ‘accidental’ release of the Ape Escape and Toro costumes has occurred at the US PlayStation Store, but unlike at the EU Store where they were pulled very quickly - these have remained live so far, hours after release. Another example of the EU being snubbed maybe or a genuine mistake that is taking far longer to rectify than it should? Either way, many European Sackpeople will be frowning today

A new update for LittleBigPlanet is available to download and install. It weighs in at 13mb and, so far, there is only speculation as to what it contains – it’s certainly too early to be the Edam update which Media Molecule said was to appear mid February.

From my own perspective it has cured the failed to load player profile bug I have recently experienced on my system, however other planeteers report no such change.

The only cosmetic difference I could find was when you rate player levels: as you scroll up and down through 1 to 5 stars there is now a `tinkle` sound effect, rising in pitch with more stars and lower with less stars. Other players have reported that the Kratos costume is now listed in their LittleBigStore when it wasn’t previously – I can’t confirm this as it has always appeared in my own LittleBigStore. In addition the rewind function in create mode appears to work a lot smoother for me where as previously I experienced long pauses.

It would be a fairly safe bet to expect that 1.08 also installed forthcoming DLC content prior to it’s release – the Chinese New Year costumes are scheduled for release today Jan 26th

Little Delay To LittleBigPlanet Content
We know you guys have been looking forward to the next batch of downloadable content which was due to launch this Thursday, 22 January. Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to release what we had planned at this time, so the wait is going to be just a little longer before the new year's content updates start to arrive. In order to make up for this disappointment, we thought you might like to see all the new content we've got lined up to come out between next week and the end of February, so hold on to your hats as there's quite a bit!

He does however specify what content we can look forward to, starting with matching Sackboy and Sackgirl Chinese New Year costumes, available for a limited time for free next week – 26th Jan - to help you celebrate the year of the Ox.

At the same time you can also dress up as the world famous Groundhog in a bid to predict the length of winter. When February rolls around you'll have no excuse for forgetting to buy a card as we release a special Valentine's Day pack containing 12 stickers and some themed costume pieces for your Sackperson. Each of these downloads will be available for a limited time, so grab them while they're hot!

God of War Costumes and Stickers
If you missed out on the pre-order offers to get hold of Kratos and the God of War content pack here's another chance to get hold of an all time classic Sackboy costume. Inside the pack you'll find Medusa and Minotaur costumes and a bunch of themed stickers to help you recreate ancient Greece in your game.

Supersonic Sackboy
In February why not pick up the pace and splash out on the WipEout content pack. Containing the WipEout costume kit and plenty of stickers to add some flavour to your game this is a very cool pack indeed.

It`s just gone 8.15 pm here in the UK and like countless thousands of fellow Little Big Planet fans I have been checking the PlayStation Store since this morning, waiting for the Metal Gear Solid costumes and Premium Level Pack to appear. So far no official word has been given for the no-show and we are left to ponder if and indeed when the Metal Gear goodness will show up – despite today being the release date offered HERE on the official US PlayStation Blog.

More if and when we hear.

UPDATE 1: The Metal Gear Solid Costume and Premium Level packs are now available to download from the US PlayStation Store…

UPDATE 2: The Metal Gear Solid packs are now live and available in the EU PlayStation Store. The costume pack is £4.79 for the Snake, Meryl, Raiden and Screaming Mantis Sackboy costumes, or £1.59 if you prefer to buy them individually. The Premium Level Pack costs £4.79

The rather clever thing is it will display not only new items for sale but also the costumes and packs you have already bought. Click on any of the costumes and your little sack personage will instantly be dressed accordingly.

UPDATE: just confirmed…you can now export screenshots to your hard drive from within the game! Press square and choose export! Yes! This is a feature we`ve asked for and welcome, thank you Media Molecule. No excuse now not to submit a picture with your levels

The EU PlayStation store has just been updated. The remaining parts of the free Sackboy Santa costume – the beard and hat – are now available for download, as is the Festive Pack containing the Giftboy and Christmas tree costumes, festive stickers, wrapping paper material, a sleigh, Xmas light and other assorted Christmas themed objects and decorations. The Festive Pack costs £2.39
