Cast your mind back a month to this competition in which Sony asked for level submissions (from US level designers only) that celebrated the PlayStation 3`s second birthday. The LittleBigWorkshop have now announced the winners who each win one of the limited edition Sackboy Crowns.
Blastroid : LBC1- PS3 Birthday Dreamworld
Antartic Fox : LBC1- <PS3 Island>
Inspace2020 : LBC1- The History of Playstation
AmericanPrinceX : LBC1- Royal Celebration
Zookey : LBC1- <Playstation Nation>
Out of the hundreds of submissions received a further 15 levels were selected for `honourable mentions`. The really good news is that all of the level designers featured will be given the Metal Gear Solid Premium Level Pack – due for arrival next week -including all of the honourable mentions. Congratulations!
Maybe in the next competition `the rest of the world` can participate? No?

Sony are running a Little Big Planet level contest. You are tasked with designing a level that celebrates the PlayStation 3’s second birthday and the competition is for US residents only.
First prize is a big, shiny, exclusive crown that will be made available to competition winners as a download. The more hearts your level gets to more of a chance you have of winning.
We have to laugh at the irony in this completion as many of the levels that have paid homage to the PlayStation 3 have been moderated because of copyright infringement and now Sony are asking LittleBigPlaneteers to design a level celebrating the PlayStation 3 , hmmm.
Little Big Land wishes good luck to all who enter the competition and once your level is complete we would love to know, so feel free mail us or submit it using our level submission form.
You can read the rules for the competition at the PlayStation.Blog.
The PlayStation Blog recently held a LittleBigContest amongst the editors to see which of them really knew what they are writing about. With a grand prize of 40" Sony Bravia TV for their office the stakes were high.
GamePro Magazine came in first ahead of the competition with a level called AIR, SEA and LAND.

PlayStation.Blog had this to say;
It’s obvious that a lot of effort went into this level. It just keeps going and going. It’s also brutally hard in a couple of places, but that just makes it more satisfying when you finish it. The theme of using lots of different vehicles worked really well. I’ve seen lots of hot air balloons, rocket sleds and handful of walkers in other levels but I was happy to see that the designer had tried something a bit new with each vehicle. I chose this level as the winner simply because it kept surprising me with new ideas and felt nicely challenging.
They had honourable mentions for a level submitted by Destructiod.com called Destructoid and a level by GamesRader.com called Smile-Time Apocalypse!
